Frequently Asked Questions

What is an immigration medical exam?

An immigration medical exam is a mandatory health screening required by many countries as part of the visa or immigration process. It includes a physical examination, blood tests, and vaccinations to ensure you meet the health requirements of your destination country.

Which countries do you cover?

We provide immigration medical exams for the United States (I-693), China, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Greece, and Spain. Each country has specific requirements, and our team ensures full compliance.

How long does the process take?

The medical exam and vaccinations are typically completed in one visit (1-2 hours). Lab results are available within 24-48 hours. The complete medical certificate is usually ready within 3-5 business days.

Do I need to bring anything?

Please bring your passport, any previous vaccination records, and a copy of your visa application or embassy letter (if applicable). Our team will advise you on specific requirements when you book.

Will the vaccines I need be available?

Yes. When you book, we confirm your required vaccines and procure them specifically for your appointment. This includes Hepatitis A+B (TWINRIX), Typhoid, Rabies, Meningitis ACWY, Tetanus, Tdap+Polio, Pneumococcal (PREVENAR 13), MMR, Influenza, Varicella, and HPV. Everything is ready and waiting when you arrive.

What is the consultation fee?

The consultation fee starts at KES 7,500 and is charged in addition to any vaccination or test fees. This covers the medical examination and certificate preparation by Dr. Yonga.

How does the Travel Vaccine Advisor work?

Our Travel Vaccine Advisor is a free interactive tool that provides personalized vaccine recommendations based on your age, sex, home country, destination, and vaccination history. It covers 19 countries and uses national immunization schedules to generate tailored advice. Note: this tool is for guidance only and does not replace a professional consultation.

How far in advance should I book my travel health appointment?

We recommend booking your consultation at least 4-6 weeks before your departure date. Some vaccines require multiple doses given over several weeks, and some need time to provide full protection. For urgent travel, contact us — we can often accommodate same-day vaccinations.

How much is the meningitis vaccine in Kenya?

The meningococcal (ACWY) vaccine at CA Medlynks costs KES 6,500. This is required for Hajj/Umrah pilgrims and travellers to the African meningitis belt. A single dose provides protection for up to 5 years. Walk-ins are welcome.

How much is the yellow fever vaccine at Wilson Airport?

Yellow fever vaccination is available at the Port Health office at Wilson Airport, but availability and waiting times can vary. At CA Medlynks, we offer yellow fever vaccination with an internationally recognized certificate at KES 5,000. No queue, and you can combine it with other travel vaccines in one visit.

How much is the hepatitis B vaccine in Kenya?

The hepatitis B vaccine at CA Medlynks costs KES 2,500 per dose. A full course is 3 doses given over 6 months (0, 1, and 6 months). We also offer an accelerated schedule for urgent travellers. Contact us for details.
